Almost 50% of the agricultural labour force in sub-Saharan Africa is made up of women. Unfortunately, their access to financing, land, new farming practices, markets and business development opportunities remains limited. As a result, the development of their business stagnates, and they are not able to reach their potential.
At the same time, the social impact funds find it challenging to source an adequate pipeline of bankable projects to invest in. Especially in Africa.
Investing in women is simply smart economics. This has been acknowledged by the European Union, the European Investment Bank, the World Bank and many more. Impact investing in female agri-entrepreneurs helps to create more jobs and prepares a sustainable, long-term path for young women to follow.
Through the LadyAgri Impact Investment Hub, we provide a platform based on 3 pillars:
- Technical assistance, coaching, mentoring, and a pipeline of bankable projects
- Matching of projects with social impact funds, through which women-agri-entrepreneurs can develop and upscale their businesses
- B2B Food Technology Partnerships, engaging the private sector in the drive to bring new technologies to the agriculture and food supply chains in Africa
In short, we bridge the gaps between social impact investors, investees and the private sector, bringing investment to agri-business projects where women can contribute, win and lead.
At LadyAgri we invest FOR impact.
